Lunch and Learn: Men’s Health for Women
We all know that women are in charge of healthcare in the home (among other things), so it’s important for women to know what tests and checkups men need and when they need them. Guys, you are also encouraged to attend since it’s you’re health on the line. We will have a free nutritious lunch, an educational talk, and giveaways.
Lunch is provided at no cost, but registration is required by noon on Monday, June 9. Attendees who have not registered or register late are free to attend, but lunch will not be provided.

Open to all nonprofit organizations, this group works together on resource access, community/neighborhood development and improvement, bringing healthcare services to residents, food insecurity, education and employment opportunities, transportation challenges, and a host of other projects. With diverse backgrounds, ideas, and expertise, the HHC is focused on healthy, hopeful, and sustainable change.

Men’s Grill & Gather
Calling all men! Come out and join us for an evening just for the guys as Chef Steffon Lewis will be manning the grill. This event offers a relaxed setting for men to gather, connect, and enjoy good company. Adam Alexander, Ph.D., and Jordan Neil, Ph.D., from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, will lead an informal discussion on men’s health. We’ll have a great meal, exciting door prizes, and camaraderie. Grab a friend, get registered, and come join us!

Senior Wellness Day
The Lynn Institute invites you to a special Senior Wellness Day event designed to empower and educate aging adults on important health topics that matter most. Enjoy insightful discussions led by knowledgeable experts, explore informational booths, relax with a soothing chair massage, and engage in gentle stretching and movement exercises with a resistance band you can take home to continue your wellness journey. Coffee and a light breakfast will be served.

On The Road To Health Spring Program
On The Road To Health is a free, 10-week wellness program focused on improving your overall health.
Required health screenings will take place at the first session on March 4 and the final session on May 13, while the 8 classes will be March 11, 25, April 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29, and May 6.
To be eligible, you must be 18 and older with one or more health issues, such as diabetes, pre-diabetes, obesity, or heart health related issues. This course is for first time participants only.

Preventing falls for senior citizens can be tricky, and the injury risk is high. Certified Exercise Physiologist Cathy Patterson will share tips and tools to help reduce potential falls and keep those at risk safer.

On The Road To Health
On The Road To Health is a free 10-week program designed to help improve your overall health. Participants will learn disease management in the areas of diabetes and heart health, strategies for weight management, understand how nutrition and physical activity impact their health, and how to set goals and navigate challenges. Participants must commit to attend all 10 classes, including the initial and end of program health screenings.
We are holding an informational meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 28 from 10-11 a.m. where we will review the class requirements and expectations. Click the Register Now link below to sign up for this event.
The dates for the 10-week classes are Feb. 18*, 25, March 4, 11, 25, April 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29* and classes will be from 10-11:15 a.m. at Garden Oaks Community Center.
To be eligible, you must be 18 and older with one or more health issues, such as diabetes, pre-diabetes, obesity, or heart health related issues. This course is for first time participants only.

Holly Jolly Holiday Party
Please join us for our free Holly Jolly Holiday Party! This is a fun event for the whole family, especially the kids. We will have pictures with Santa, a hot chocolate bar, cookies, dancing to carols, holiday music, door prizes, and more! We will also have health screenings for the adults for blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose, provided by INTEGRIS Health. The event will be held at the Willa D. Johnson Recreation Center, located at 909 Frederick Douglass Ave. in Oklahoma City. Please let us know how many adults and children are in your party so we can ensure we have enough snacks for everyone.

Healthy Hopeful Communities Meeting
Calling all nonprofit partners, join us for our Healthy Hopeful Communities Holiday Party! We will provide some team updates from our project work groups, but there will be plenty of time for networking and socializing. The event will be held at the Metro Tech District Center, Room J, located at 1900 Springlake Drive in Oklahoma City. We will provide lunch, but registration is required by Monday, Dec. 9.

Girls Night Out
THIS EVENT IS OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT!
Join us for our 2nd Annual Lynn Institute Girls Night Out! The doors will open at 5:30 where you will be able to visit numerous vendors and have some social time before our dinner and program begin at 6:15. The program will feature a local physician discussing important issues around women’s health. Tickets for the event are $10 or get a reserved table for 8 for $100. Last year was a sellout event so get your tickets early and join us on Friday, Oct. 25 for Girls Night Out!

Men’s Health Prostate Awareness Dinner
Prostate cancer awareness is vital for all men. If you’re a member of the Black community, the disease is even more prevalent and often more aggressive. Raising awareness about regular screenings can lead to early detection, improving survival rates and reducing the disproportionate impact of prostate cancer. We invite all men to join us on Thursday, Sept. 19 as Dr. Carl Griffin shares information on prostate cancer and the importance of early screening for the disease. We will enjoy a nutritional meal, have a helpful discussion, and door prizes! This event will be at the Metro Tech District Center, located at 1900 Springlake Drive in Oklahoma City.
