The Lynn Institute is committed to helping create and sustain Healthy, Hopeful Communities.
We do this by helping Oklahomans achieve optimal health, not just physically, but in all aspects of their lives individually, and collectively as communities. Through our historical research projects, the Lynn Institute has identified vulnerable communities where access in a variety of areas is lacking, poverty is prevalent, high percentages of chronic illness and mental/behavioral issues impact life expectancy, and where children and families struggle to experience life’s most basic needs.
The Lynn Institute works with our Healthy Hopeful Communities (HHC) members to identify gaps in programming and services to create a plan of work that will have a sustainable impact on the community. The HHC is comprised of community leaders representing civic, community, faith-based and nonprofit organizations, city, county and state government, education, business and commerce, hospitals and clinics, transportation, environment and beautification entities, and economic and development agencies. This group works together on resource access, community and neighborhood development and improvement, bringing healthcare services to residents, food insecurity, education and employment opportunities, and a host of other projects. With diverse backgrounds, ideas, and expertise, the HHC is focused on healthy, hopeful, and sustainable change.
The more than 80 members of the Healthy, Hopeful Community Collaborative serve without compensation or benefit to their organization and help bring food distributions, health screenings, home and life resources, education and employment information, and other resources to residents in the communities we collectively serve. In addition, the HHC addresses larger community needs related to poverty, blight, economic development, justice, children and family services, transportation, and policy.
We are looking for like-minded individuals and organizations to join us. We would love for you to partner with us in our efforts to help improve the lives of those in the communities we serve.
